After a few beautiful hours of sleep, we had to get up to exchange rental cars at the San Francisco airport. The Hertz guy gave us a free upgrade to a swanky minivan, which was awfully nice of him. Then we went down to San Carlos and met up with my uncle for lunch and a walk around "downtown." We spent a lot of time in the party supply store, it being Halloween-time and all.

After that, we went to go visit our pal Philippe! We got to meet some of his roommates too, Teodor and Lyle. Teodor was really cool, but Lyle was kind of a dick. Philippe was running for president at the time, so I tried to talk to him about how that was going, but he kept changing the subject to Halloween and how much he likes the little candy bars. I told him maybe he could do some door-to-door campaigning while he was trick-or-treating, and he gave me a big hug and said something about how my ideas make America a very happy place to be. Anyway, we had a fun day, it was pretty much the greatest thing ever to spend a day off where we weren't stuck in a car the entire time.
