So we got up bright and early-ish and set out on various adventures. Da Boof went to the Van Gogh museum, and us Freezepoppers went into town in search of... pannekoeken!! The Duke had been eagerly anticipating this meal since we started planning the trip. And I've gotta say, we were not disappointed. They're somewhere in between the large flatness of crepes and compact fluffiness of pancakes. Mmmm, pannekoeken....Then we did a bit of shopping downtown. I didn't really find anything though. The boys bought some socks. There was a very exciting set of window displays at a store on the main street that featured bright green garden gnomes. Yay!

Then we headed back to Arnold's and went to our soundcheck at the Paradiso. Wow. We pretty much went from the worst sound system ever the night before, to the best here. The boys just sorta stood there with big goofy grins on their faces listening to it. It kicked a lot of synthpop ass. We had our own little room downstairs, and Arnold and da Boof fetched us some snacks and some more Bacardi Breezers, bless their hearts. So we hung out and learned about the Duke's brief Nascar career (who would have guessed...) and were joined by Persil, the other band that night, who were quite fantastic. Then it was our turn. Things went awry during Get Ready 2 Rokk, of course. We don't seem to have the best luck with that one. Other than that, everything went great. The turnout was pretty decent for a Tuesday night (Anything more than 8 people being a great improvement, of course). It was cool because the folks who were there were really enthusiastic. It's cool getting to meet people we've been emailing with. (Of course, it would have been cooler if our photo with them didn't get erased...)
